Professional safety, mounting and wiring instructions for switchButler IoT DIN-rail controllers. Read the safety chapter before handling the device and always verify the installed model and hardware revision.

Safety and permitted use

The controller is intended for professional electrical installations inside a suitable panel or enclosure. Installation, wiring, inspection and commissioning are reserved for qualified personnel.

Product identification
SBIOT360

SBIOT360 is a three-module DIN-rail controller with three relay outputs, six digital inputs, a local display, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE for supported local functions.

  • Three SPDT relay outputs and six programmable digital inputs.
  • Local display functions are governed by the installed firmware and the configuration applied by the platform.
  • Supports the BTH1 wireless temperature and humidity sensor; BTH1 removal and replacement are managed by the remote lifecycle workflow.

Connection diagram

The validated revision-specific drawing will be added here. Until then, use the following functional terminal groups together with the markings on the installed product; do not infer terminal order or orientation from photographs.

Panel and DIN-rail mounting

Mount the IP20 controller on a 35 mm DIN rail (EN 60715) inside a closed electrical panel or another enclosure that provides the protection required by the installation environment.

  • Keep the installation free from moisture, conductive dust, corrosive substances and flammable gases or vapours.
  • Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources, abrupt temperature changes and strong electromagnetic fields.
  • Respect the occupied width, operating temperature and clearances stated for the selected model and revision.

Power supply

Supply the controller with 12–24 V DC from a certified class-2 limited-power source (LPS), protected against reverse polarity and short circuit.

  • Observe polarity and the maximum consumption stated for the installed model.
  • Keep the power cable shorter than 2.9 m unless revision-specific documentation states otherwise.
  • Keep low-voltage wiring separated from hazardous-voltage circuits according to the applicable installation rules.

Relay outputs

Wire each SPDT output using the COM, NO and NC markings shown on the terminal diagram. Select NO or NC according to the required de-energized state; never infer the terminal order from a photograph.

  • Protect and size every load circuit within the rating stated for the installed hardware revision.
  • For hazardous-voltage loads, switch only the phase conductor and keep the same voltage category across adjacent relays.
  • Use an external contactor or interface relay when the load type, inrush current or required isolation exceeds the product rating.

Digital inputs

Connect the four or six programmable digital inputs only as shown by the terminal diagram for the selected model. SBIOT360 and SBIOT240 do not provide analogue inputs.

  • Use the dedicated input common at the final common terminal shown in the diagram; do not substitute the power-supply negative terminal.
  • Do not apply a voltage or signal type unless it is explicitly permitted by the revision-specific electrical data.
  • Keep input cables shorter than 2.9 m and use suitable shielding near strong electromagnetic fields.

Heating and thermostat applications

The controller is not a certified safety thermostat and must not replace a compliant physical thermostat, temperature limiter or other mandatory protective device.

  • Provide the independent thermostat or limiter required by the heating system design.
  • Define the safe relay state for loss of sensor data, loss of connectivity and controller restart.
  • Have the complete circuit and its fail-safe behaviour verified by qualified personnel before operation.

Wi-Fi and remote connectivity

The controller communicates with switchButler IoT over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. The radio implementation and conformity documentation are model- and revision-specific.

  • Remote connectivity is an operational service and must never form the only safety chain.
  • Local behaviour during an Internet or platform outage follows the applied device configuration and firmware revision.
  • Install the antenna area away from metal screening and interference sources where required by the product documentation.

Display and local operation

The display provides local status and only the controls enabled by the applied platform configuration. It is not an independent configuration authority.

  • Local relay control is available only where explicitly enabled for the configured relay.
  • The display can scan and add a BTH1 sensor, but it cannot delete or replace one.
  • Configuration changes become active only after platform acceptance and device synchronization.
